Basic Information about Richard Carlin

Hello.  I’m Richard Carlin.  I’m an author and editor of books on music and the arts.  I’ve written numerous biographies and books on music history, including most recent Eubie Blake: Rags, Rhythm, and Race (coauthored with Ken Bloom; see our website, www.eubieblake.net), County Music: A Very Short Introduction, and Godfather of the Music Industry: Morris Levy.  I am currently working as a Consulting Editor for SUNY Press and as a Consulting Reference Editor for Columbia University Press.

I enrolled in the Digital Humanities program to expand my knowledge about how to use digital assets to research, publish, and promote my work and to be better able to serve the authors who I work with.

I am primarily interested in building my skills in digital networking and publicizing my work online and to building a digital audience.
